Autumn is a time when Alfie likes to make collections of interesting things like flower petals, conkers, leaves and acorn cups. He especially likes those seed pods which have little wings so they can fly down from the tree like aeroplanes and plant themselves in the ground. The leaves are falling and turning from green to all kinds of beautiful colours. Alfie likes to collect them: green, yellow, orange, light red, dark red and brown. So many different shapes and sizes! But some trees have leaves which stay green all the year round.

In the park the ducks come waddling up to be fed, and some birds are getting ready to fly away to a warmer place for the winter, great flocks of them wheeling around in the sky.
