Alfie’s family cat is black and white and she is called Chessie. She doesn’t mind being played with, but she is not keen on being picked up and carried about by Annie Rose. So she runs off whenever she sees her coming.

The MacNally family, who live across the street from Alfie, had a cat called Smokey who got very old and died. They all missed him very much, especially Mr MacNally. So Maureen MacNally, who is the big girl who sometimes babysits for Alfie and Annie Rose, bought her dad a dear little kitten for his birthday. He is a striped tabby with white paws, and they have called him Boots.

Alfie’s friend Min and her little sister have two beautiful rabbits with silky ears. The white one with pink eyes is called Bianca and Domino is black-and-white with eyes like shiny brown beads.
